The criteria for membership of France Congrès are as follows :
QUALITATIVE CRITERIAS
1) Conference or convention centre
To qualify as a conference venue, a town must be equipped with a purpose-designed conference or convention centre,
housed in a single building, featuring:
• a fully equipped main hall (projection, sound and fixed or mobile simultaneous translation facilities),
• a selection of committee rooms of different capacities, including offices that can be made available to clients,
• an exhibition area,
• a restaurant area either inside the building or within easy walking distance.
2) Conference Bureau
A permanent specialist team (promotion, reception, coordination, conference management).
3) Hotel capacity
Number of hotel rooms (from 5 stars to 1 star) in the town or urban area equivalent to at least two thirds of main conference hall capacity.
Listed hotels must meet the standards of the new hotel classification system introduced in 2009, or show proof of any new application for classification in the form of a document issued by the appropriate classification authority.
4) Access
A commercial domestic and/or international airport within reasonable distance of the town.
Air and rail services must provide easy and convenient access for conference participants.
5) Environment
An attractive tourist or business environment and first-class sports, leisure and cultural amenities, accessible to conference participants.
QUANTITATIVE CRITERIA
Conference towns are divided into three categories:
• CATEGORY 1:
towns with conference capacity of over 750 participants.
• CATEGORY 2:towns with conference capacity of 500 to 750 participants.
• CATEGORY 3::towns with conference capacity of 250 to 500 participants.
These criteria form an indivisible whole and will be verified by on-site inspection followed by a report to the Management Board.
